Reuben and Gad approach Moses about staying in the land they had just conquered. However, they would stay and fight “until every one of the sons of Israel has possessed his inheritance.” Moses made this allowance, but, with the warning above! Though this is a Universal Maxim, (Every Man’s Sin will find them on Judgement Day) it is especially true for God’s People. But I’m a Christian; Jesus died for my sins! True, but if you are a true Child of God, your Father will be dealing with your behavior. See Hebrews 12:4-11 for more details!
