“Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.” Deuteronomy 30:6
As Moses finishes his final words to Israel, he gives them this Promise. Notice the order, “God will circumcise your heart” and then “to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul”. Add to this what he said in Chapter 29, “Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear”. What you have here, in essence, is the New Covenant that both Jeremiah and Ezekiel describe.
Lesson? Until God Radically Changes our Hearts, we CANNOT Love, Honor, or Obey Him. Jesus said “unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God”!!! May God make it so!
