“Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the house.” 2 Chronicles 7:1
As Israel gathered to dedicate the Temple, we’re told they “were sacrificing so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.” The Ark of the Covenant was put into its place and then Solomon prayed (see Chapter 6). Today’s verse is what happened when he finished.
What was it that brought this Sign from God? The Temple? The number of sacrifices? Solomon’s prayer? These things are important, but I believe it was the Ark being put into its Holy Place. And what made the Ark so Holy? Just 2 Tablets of Stone God gave to Moses? NO! It was what was written on them; The 10 Commandments!!!
Now tell me that doesn’t deserve some thought and reflection!
