“If your sons sinned against Him, then He delivered them into the power of their transgression.” Job 8:4
So today we have Friend #2 speaking. As I said yesterday, when they arrived they wept and were silent…for 7 days. No doubt they cared for Job and revealed that by their display of grief and sorrow. But as Jesus said, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”, and these friends begin to reveal themselves! Certainly, the last thing you would say to someone grieving over the loss of their children, is what Bildad has chosen to say (as if Job didn’t know this already)! Yes, of course God judges sinful acts and behavior; but don’t bring that up right after their funeral!
There is an old saying that is certainly apropos here, “with friends like these, who needs enemies?” Lesson of the Day? Choose your friends well!!!
