Read Job 38-42

“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?”” Job 38:1-2

As the Book of Job comes to a close and Job’s 4 friends rest their case, God speaks! And for the next 4 Chapters, God takes Job to task for his limited and finite view of Himself. He opens the Veil hiding His Almighty Power to show Job just how much He controls all things. It’s as humbling as it gets, so much so, Job exclaims, “I lay my hand on my mouth” in complete and thorough repentance.

We don’t live in a time where we can hear God speak like this, but we do have His Word, and we do have Creation and Providence that speak the same things. May God reveal Himself to each of us today, in a similar manner, so that we bow before Him, broken and in the dust!
