“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.” Psalm 27:4
We are told in 1 Samuel that David was a man after God’s own Heart. Here is part of why that was true. He had a Single-Eyed Devotion to God that was unparalleled. “One Thing” he says he has “asked from the Lord”, Just One! David had Power; he was King! David had Wealth; much! But he really only wanted One Thing! GOD
As the early Church began, Jesus summoned His Disciples one day and began instructing them. One of His Precepts was very similar to David’s. “Seek First the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness”! Such a simple concept; any child can grasp it. Yet, how Illusive!!! May God help us to be more life David in this regard!
