“The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.” Proverbs 10:1
As the Proverbs officially begin in Chapter 10, Solomon’s first reference is to “A Wise Son”. This should not be a surprise, as the term “My Son” occurs some 20 times in the first 9 Chapters. Some of those Chapters were directed entirely to his sons. If the Wisest man that has ever lived pleaded with his sons to be wise, how much more should we, as fathers, plead, model, teach, and exemplify wisdom to our children? And again, don’t forget the source of that Wisdom. The Fear of God! Proverbs 9:10
And where is it we grow and cultivate “The Fear of God”? Where is “its” source and originations? The Word of God! That is where that Plant grows. And if we would know it, have it, grow it, we must constantly be steeping ourselves in its Pages. Daily Bible Reading is where that can take place! May God give us all Grace to find ourselves there Daily!!!
