“Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall surely be put to death;” Leviticus 24:16a There are several instances of punishment recorded in the Pentateuch; this is one of them. Moses, here in Leviticus, summarizes it with this statement; be Holy, for I am Holy! Not much has changed

“Then Moses said to Aaron, “It is what the Lord spoke, saying, ‘By those who come near Me I will be treated as holy, and before all the people I will be honored.’” So Aaron, therefore, kept silent.” Leviticus 10:3 The Tabernacle, and Aaron and his sons have been consecrated, and Fire has come out
