“but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18a
Years ago, I heard a sermon on this verse and its message has stayed with me ever since. Here are some thoughts from this morning:
1st, this is an Imperative, a Command; it is not optional for anyone that would call themself a Christian! 2nd, we are to grow “in grace”, in the manner and characteristics of Christ; as Paul tells us, putting off the Old Man and putting on the New! 3rd, we are to grow “in knowledge”, and of course that comes from the Word of God. A daily and consistent Diet of Bible, where we learn more and more of Christ. Does this resonate with you? Is it true of you? It must not only be present in heart, but also carried out in how we live! May God make it so!!!
