“Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem to test Solomon with difficult questions.” 2 Chronicles 9:1a
As King Solomon’s “fame” spreads throughout the world, it attracts one we call the Queen of Sheba. We aren’t told much about her or where Sheba is, but apparently wealthy enough to bring “120 talents of gold and a very great amount of spices and precious stones”. As she tested him with her “difficult questions” we’re told he “answered all her questions; nothing was hidden from Solomon which he did not explain to her.”
As Jesus rebuked His generation for seeking a sign, He used this Story. He said “she came from the ends of the earth to hear the Wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.” The same holds true today! May God give us Ears to Hear!
