As I alluded earlier, there is so much in David’s life that could be commented on, but I’m trying to stay within a 1 year Bible-Read Commentary. Also, these thoughts are just to whet your appetite for reading the Word of God yourself!
Wise, Shrewd, and Insightful Counselors may be helpful, but if they are not Godly Christians…then Beware!!! One minute they may be your friend, the next, your enemy. This man, who once counseled King David, now was the advisor of insurrectionist Absalom. This one, who spoke as it were “the word of God”, would end up committing suicide after being spurned by his new King. May God help us to choose our Counselors well!
