When I read or think of this Verse, I usually have the Wicked and Ungodly in mind. Though that is true, the Writer had the Hebrew Christian in view. He exhorts them earlier to come to God for forgiveness, and with confidence, to provoke one another to love and good works, and, to not forsake the assembling of themselves together. He then utters this warning, “if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins” followed up with the verse above. Serious Stuff!!! How we live MATTERS! We have no right to claim Christ as Savior unless we live as if He is our Lord! May today’s warning wake us up!!!
