“Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces in the presence of all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel.” Numbers 14:5
In the last 3 chapters we saw the grumbling and complaining begin and in the next 3 we see the Judgement of God follow. Time and time again, Israel defiantly chooses to disobey God and suffers as a result. These open acts of rebellion would result in wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, seen here, to a plague wiping out 14,700 in chapter 17.
Today’s Lesson? Do we Obey God? Do we Honor Him? Yes, Jesus died so that we can be forgiven, but also so that we “Would Change”!!! There’s a saying I heard a number of years ago that is so apropos here; “No Holiness, No Heaven”. We MUST Obey God if we name the Name of Christ, or suffer the consequences!
