In many ways, David is the example to us of the “Everyday Christian”. As you read about his life, you are struck by his honesty and transparency; which helps us to have someone like him to relate to. Here in today’s Psalm, he is crying out to God because of what he sees in the world around him. He lives among those that confess to be God’s People, but no longer reflect Him or love Him. So in essence, what does he do? He cries out to God for Revival!
We live in a similar time. As we look at the Church today, we can say the same thing. Where are “the godly”? Where are “the faithful”? Today, perhaps more than any other time in the history of the Church, we need Revival!!! May God help us all to be more like David!
