“Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11
As I have mentioned in the past, Psalm 119 is one of my favorite Psalms. Today’s Verse is one that most of us are familiar with; one that many memorized as a child. Here are a couple of my thoughts:
I especially like the use of the word “treasured” rather than “hid” (KJV). I think it epitomizes better the understanding of the 2nd half of the verse. As it were, “I so value and appreciate your Word, I have “Treasured” it in my heart”! And why was this so? Because that WORD, was everything he needed to direct, to challenge, to encourage, to help, to strengthen, and to enable him…Not To Sin against God! And of course, this came from a Heart wholly devoted to Fearing God and living for His Glory!
May THIS Verse become one that WE Treasure!!!
