“You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” Psalm 16:11
The Psalms never cease to amaze me. They are a help in prayer, an encouragement in struggle, and a treasure in understanding the Christian life. Here David finishes with a climax that is stunning. “You WILL make known to me”! This knowledge of God’s Power and Wisdom is second to none. “In your presence IS fullness of joy”! “In your right hand there ARE pleasures forever”! Not “maybe”, not “might”, but IS and ARE! That IS what the Christian Life is to include. That’s not to say that there are times when God Is “Not Present”, and things are dark and difficult, because they are. But the Upside is that these realities of God’s Guidance and Blessing are not in the future. They are NOW!!!
